On Monday American President Donald Trump was able to extract a $100 billion commitment to invest over the next four years of the Trump Administration term in artificial intelligence and high-end technology in America from Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son. From what we know, Masayoshi Son is a staunch supporter of Donald Trump and has previously invested $50 billion and pledged to add 50 million jobs during the Former President’s previous term back in 2016.

If those funds were disbursed and how it was spent is not presently clear. However, what we do know about Former now currently re-elected President Trump is that he does believe in what is known as “pay to play”. For many people this reek of underhandedness. However, for those who understand how negotiations and deals are made – especially when it comes to geopolitical negotiations and deals; there’s nothing to fear as negotiations and deals like these are just a fact of life – especially in the world of business and geopolitics.

With Masayoshi Son's new pledge of $100 billion and the creation of 100 million jobs, it leads one to wonder what kind of deal was made behind closed doors that may have resulted in Masayoshi Son agreeing to pledge this amount of money for Americans. Remember nothing in this world is free but Jesus. Softbank, of which isn’t a bank, but a Japanese venture capital funding organization that has its hands on Alibaba (Chinese), Yahoo, various mobile services, 316 subsidiaries and affiliate companies, and American tech giant Nvidia.

With that being said, President Trump also stated:

“any country that would be willing to invest $100 billion or more in the United States would be eligible for fully expedited permits and approvals from the federal government.”

So, the question now becomes with Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son investing $100 billion, what perks will he be privy to? We guess the world will know when the time is right.
