Things are winding down at the Cactus Jack HBCU Classic here at Daikin Park. The second match-up today between Jackson State University and Texas Southern University turned out to be a good game. Could it be possible that the players from both teams were a bit taken back from the cold front that's been creeping into the later parts of the afternoon? We think so. However, despite that both teams did their best to play on par with their respective performances on the diamond during the series up until this point.
Neither team earned any runs in the first inning. The second inning was a good one with Jackson State University leading Texas Southern University with 3 runs to 1. Jackson State University scored another run at the top of the third inning and wouldn't score their next run until the fifth inning in which they scored 3 runs. From the third to the sixth inning Texas Southern University was nowhere to be found on the scoreboard. While troubling to the fans of Texas Southern University, the team still managed to do their best on the field.
For the seventh and eighth innings, neither team scored. This game ended in the ninth inning with Jackson State University beating Texas Southern University 7-3. The highlighted box scores are as follows:
