In another great game on day 2 of the cactus jack HBCU college classic. This time it seems as if we have two rival teams going head-to-head on the Astros diamond at Daikin Park. This game is considered by many fans to be a highly competitive game with both teams duking it out in the first inning and as a result, both teams finished the bottom of the first inning by tying the score at three runs apiece. After that, the heat between both of the teams continued as neither team allowed the other to score for the next two innings. It would be until the fourth inning that Southern University would break that deadlock and score the next run.
There was a lot of excitement in the building as the fifth inning as both teams blazed through the fifth inning, Southern University scoring three runs but was overshadowed by Grambling State University as they scored a whopping seven runs. Although Southern University played a great game for the remainder of the game, they were unable to match the momentum that Grambling State University established on the field. The game ended in Grambling University defeating Southern University 20-10. The highlighted box scores are as follows:
