Last week’s Houston Dash game against the North Carolina Liberty resulted in the Houston Dash winning 3-0. If you were there that night, you missed a spectacular win. But the question that’s on everyone’s mind is: “Can the Houston Dash do it again with their upcoming game against the Racine Louisville FC on June 7th, 2024”. And the answer that the vast majority of the Houston Dash fans have is yes.
Of course, there will always be nay-sayers and detractors, but the people who fall into these categories fail to understand how hard the women of the Houston Dash train. Looking at some of the stats from their last game against the North Carolina liberty, even though the liberty took 13 shots to the Houston Dash’s 9, it was the Houston Dash that led when it came to shots on target 6-3. Moreover, even though the North Carolina Liberty were in possession of the ball 66% of the time compared to the Houston Dash’s 34%, the Houston Dash still came out on top by winning the game.
According to the stats, the Houston Dash had 281 passes that were overshadowed by the 522 passes from the North Carolina Liberty. The pass accuracy between the two teams were 69% (Houston Dash) to 83% (North Carolina Liberty). During that game, it could be said that the Houston Dash played aggressively which is why they lead in fouls 13 to 11 (North Carolina Liberty). Both teams received yellow cards, with the Houston Dash leading in offsides calls (5-1). The North Carolina Liberty lead in corners (5-2).
With that being said, the dedicated fans of the Houston Dash are still rallying behind them at full strength. Beyond simply training, we at VEDA Magazine firmly believe that it’s the fans unwavering support for the Houston Dash that gives them the edge that they need to play as hard as they do on the field. The next Houston Dash game will be held at Shell Energy Stadium located at 2200 Texas Ave, Houston, TX 77003 on June 7th, 2024. Make sure you are there as they face-0ff against the Racine Louisville FC who is currently ranked 8th in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
