There's a lot that can be said about China, but the one thing you can't say about China at CERAWeek is that they are losing. In a spectacular roundtable meeting , China has demonstrated that not only that they can't be “contained”, but they are willing to do whatever is necessary to stay technologically relevant and competitive in international trade and the free market. China has been seen as the “bullseye” for a lot of American politicians despite China pushing past all the economic barriers in the form of sanctions countries like America have placed in front of them.

During this mornings “STRATEGIC ROUNDTABLE | CHINA’S ENERGY FUTURE” it was revealed by representatives of China that even though it could be difficult to sell Chinese citizens on getting on board with its government's long term goals and objectives, once Chinese citizens get on board with their governments goals and objectives, they become not only fully committed; but they will ensure that China as a nation see’s their goals to the end. This is why China has been able to significantly increase their GDP and trade numbers and firmly secure a strong foothold in both the tech and trade sectors despite being sanctioned by America and the Collective West.

For China to raise billions of people out of poverty is no small feat; but it was one that China embarked on and thus finds itself where it is today; as being the “World’s Factory”. With EV’s (Electric Vehicles) being driven by 50% of the Chinese population combined with its export demands for it’s electric vehicles like “BYD”; it's estimated that China will dominate the world in EV production and sales. Currently, when it comes to consumers supplying energy to Chinese EV’s, it was revealed by Chinese insiders that it amounts to 1/10 of the fuel operation cost of standard petrol/gasoline cars. In order for the people of China to buy into a product long term – it’s essential that the product is cost-effective, works, and meets the demands of Chinese consumers. This is a trifecta that China has balanced and implemented with ease.

During the course of this morning's roundtable with China, those at the roundtable had the opportunity to explain how and why China leads in battery and wind turbine production as well as solar panels. China, once known for having some of the world's worst air quality, seems to be leading the charge and demonstrating to the world that it has essentially “cleaned up its act” by significantly increasing and pouring a massive number of economic investments and governmental subsidies into sustainable energy.

This leads us to another highlight of this morning's roundtable talk with China, CleanTech. Although China has withdrawn from what is known as the Paris Agreement, China has embarked on making its own trail for others to follow when it comes to reaching the worldwide goal of becoming a NetZero international community.  What does this mean for the world’s global order? Quite honestly it looks like change and leading that change seems to be China and that’s why China is winning at the 2025 CERAWeek.
