CERAWEEK DAY 5 | VEDA Communications Video by Michael Thervil
Today marks the last day of 2025 S&P 500’s “CERAWeek”. It was an exciting ride that was not only exceptionally executed but filled with a lot of industry insiders from oil, gas, artificial intelligence, mining, and energy industries, as well as thought leaders on geopolitics, tech and financial gurus. There were also showcases and exhibitions, heads of state, and of course some of the top executives from some of the biggest multi-national companies in the world. Another thing that nearly all the attendees enjoyed was the opportunity to network face to face and get the opportunity to get away from the endless amount of Zoom calls as well as the opportunity to cut deals face to face that could possibly change the trajectory of the world within their respective industries.
CERAWeek 2025 gave us and all attendees the opportunity to see what's on the cutting edge of technology as well as the companies that are spearheading and serving as the driving force behind those technologies. International companies like Aramco, Google (Alphabet), Microsoft, BlackRock, Chevron, Amazon were some of the main attractions of this week-long conference. Another thing that was great was the fact that there was an artificial intelligence exhibition that provided attendees with the ability to go through various simulations in an executive decision making capacity concerning the combination of oil, gas, energy which rendered end-scenario’s that would articulate how one’s decision would impact a city, state, country, and the world at large.
Attendees also enjoyed the "Agora" which is where innovative tech leaders offer up solutions to fix the issues of how to increase energy production while lowering emissions. The ability to speak to anyone within any industry at any time was another great take away from CERAWeek. This includes heads of state, ambassadors, and industry titans. But like anything in life, CERAWeek 2025 was not without its minor drawbacks. One such drawback was that there were some industry specific panelists that espoused inaccuracies especially when it came to the sector of geopolitics as well as few panelists that were out of touch when it came to the educational system in America. Also, there was a significant segment of attendees that felt that several of the panelists were too hawkish on countries such as Russia and China.

Even though it’s a known fact that no one can expect to get/have everything they want, we have to say that it was somewhat disappointing that representatives from China were not able to execute face-to-face discussions and dialogue with other panelists who would be considered diametrically opposed to China's positions and actions. Also, with the various times when Russia and Ukraine were mentioned, it’s been agreed by several attendees that it would have been a great idea to have invited representatives from Russia to come out and engage in talks concerning their position and take on the LNG industry and their thoughts on where they think it's going.
But overall, CERAWeek 2025 was a great event. There are other notes that will be highlighted in a later video at a later date. As always enjoy the video included in this video which has been split into two parts. The video shown documented the panel discussion entitled: “REDEFINING GLOBAL ORDER: DEMOGRAPHICS, GEOPOLITICS & SECURITY” and featured the following panelist:
Nick Eberstadt - Henry Wendt Chair in Political Economy – American Enterprise Institute (AEI)
Karl Eikenberry Distinguished Fellow, Stimson Center – former Ambassador & Lieutenant General
Paul Gruenwald – Global Chief Economist – S&P
Carlos Pascual – Senior Vice President, Geopolitics & International Affairs – S&P Global
We at VEDA Communications are already looking forward to not only attending next year’s CERAWeek (2026) to highlight was going on in the industries of oil, gas, energy, artificial intelligence, mining, education, and geopolitics; but we are looking into expanding our presence at this world-renowned S&P Global conference known as CERAWeek.
