The words “China will not be bullied” appear to carry more weight than they did last week as China announced that they will slap America with a tariff increase to 84% in tariffs from their previous 34% increase in tariffs on all imported American goods and products. This is a serious blow to America as America imported more than $438.9 billion in Chinese goods last year. This is roughly triple the amount of what America exports to China ($143. billion) in the same year. "How much more can America take?", is what many people are asking considering that China is the world's factory.
Many Economists and Geopolitical pundits are predicting that America will fall into a recession in the next coming months if the America vs the world trade war continues to go on. In fact, there are another two variables that the Trump Administration seems to blind to and that’s the fact that there's a growing likelihood that they could be a global boycott of American made goods and product and the second variable is the possibility that China could just simply “cut America off” when it comes to both international trade and the importation and exportation of goods, services, and products. If this should happen, then it could very well embolden other countries to follow suit. If this happens, this would be leaving America essentially doomed to death in terms of world trade and international diplomatic relations.
Even though there are several key investors that have invested into the American economy by the billions, those few investors are greatly overshadowed by the world economy in that not only could the world as a collective cause incalculable economic damage to them, but the world as a collective force could weaponize their anti-American trade disposition onto them as well. If this were to happen, it would place those countries in a highly volatile and compromising position.
China can very well cease and desist the importation of all American agricultural products as well. Again, if this would happen it would essentially break the agricultural sector in the American economy. Farmers and American consumers will most definitely suffer socio-economically. It's been predicted that if China was to execute such a move, the Trump Administration would quickly move to subsidize American farmers and cattle producers - but at what cost and for how long as America is essentially financially broke.
Keep in mind that warfare includes other variables besides bullets, bombs, sanctions, and technology. It also includes the hyper production of goods and products as well as the illegal drug trade. We say this because China could very well indirectly assist the Mexican Cartels in terms of the precursors used to make fentanyl, carfentanil and other various synthetic drugs. Like it or not America has a drug dependency endemic.
When times get tough, especially financially, many Americans turn to both illegal and over-the-counter drugs to “escape” the harsh realities they live in. This for many people watching the geopolitical chessboard is the perfect weakness for China to prey on outside of the economic blow back that is sure to come if the Trump Administration continues on its current trajectory. China stated that they will fight to the bitter end. The world is watching and so are we at VEDA Communications.
