Today is day two of the Houston Winter Invitational baseball series at Minute Maid Park – home of the Houston Astros. The universities that played on the diamond today were Tampa vs. Millersville (10am), followed by Southern New Hampshire vs. Central Missouri (1:30pm), and ending with St. Cloud State vs. Arkansas Tech (5:00pm). What we liked about the second series of the three-day series of baseball games is that it just felt really good to be there. Being in the stands, relaxing and enjoying a smooth game, watching people have great conversations and cheering on their favorite team, and of course eating and drinking (pop/soda), & for those who can; drinking their favorite alcoholic beverages from the concession stands. Like the day before, these three teams put their best foot forward and played their best games on the diamond.
If you have a significant other or have someone that you're dating for the first time, going to the Houston Winter Invitational series of games is a great place to bring your date or to even simply meet up with friends and family. The atmosphere is just right for casual conversations when it comes to either getting to know each other or to vent your sports related frustrations to your family remember because your favorite team is losing (this is meant as a joke – and this is the part where you laugh).
From players batting and hitting home runs, to catching balls in the outfield, to the roaring cheers from the crowd to players stealing plates and sliding from plate to plate, then to the food and drinks at the concession stands, you kind of have to ask yourself what's holding you back from attending at least one of these three-day events. The Houston winter invitational has something for everyone and that includes you.
