Welcome to the 6th day of the Fayez Sarofim & Co. ATP 250 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championship. Yesterday was yet another great day for professional tennis as only the best of the best went head-to-head on the court as there are only two matches, both singles, played yesterday in the semi-finals. The first match of the day is Tommy Paul vs. Jenson Brooksby and was followed by Brandon Nakashima vs. Frances Tiafoe.
Despite the rainy weather the first match between Tommy Paul vs. Jenson Brooksby absolutely had the crowd mesmerized by both the intensity and dynamics of the plays. It should be noted that there were several times in which the match was suspended due to lightning and adverse weather conditions. Speaking to a couple of attendees of the match, they felt that the weather disruptions hindered the momentum of the game – even though it's beyond anyone's control.
Over the course of the tournament, the one name that people really seemed to gravitate to was not Tommy Paul, but Jenson Brooksby. And for good reasons. Not only has he shown skill on the court throughout the course of the tournament, but he has played with a high degree of passion that can't be denied. His opponent, Tommy Paul, is without a shadow of doubt a top contender in the world of tennis, but regardless of his status, he was unable to defeat Jenson Brooksby tonight.

Tommy Paul scored 15/22 (68%) net points won, with 36 winners, and 54 unforced errors. Jenson Brooksby was able to score 12/16 (75%) net points won, 20 winners, and 32 unforced errors. Tommy Paul ended the night with 69/111 (62%) service points won, with 45/109 (41%) return points won, and 114/220 (52%) when it came to total points won. The winner of this match, Jenson Brooksby on the other hand, had 64/109 (59%) service points won, 42/11 (38%) return points won, and 106/220 (48%) total points won.
Spectators are labeling the match between Brandon Nakashima vs. Frances Tiafoe was nothing short but “excellent”. Even though many spectators wished that Brandon Nakashima performed a little better than he did. But maybe the decrease in his performance could be attributed to the disposition of the clay after the inclement weather and/or possible fatigue. In any case, Brandon Nakashima scored 5/1 (36%), 18 winners, and 27 unforced errors. In addition, he also scored 42/81 (52%) in service points won, 22/60 (37%) in return points won, and 64/141 (45%) in total points won.
The winner, Frances Tiafoe, giving the crowd a spectacular performance scored 7/10 (70%)in net points won, 26 winners, and 17 unforced errors. Frances Tiafoe also led in service points won 38/60 (63%), return points won 38/60 (48%), and had a score of 77/141 (55%) when it came to total points won it should be noted that because of the inclement weather conditions yesterday, the double featuring Federico Agustin Gomez and Santiago Gonzalez vs. Fernando Romboli and John-Patrick Smith was pushed back and is set to start today at 12:30pm. This concludes our coverage of day 6 of the Fayez Sarofim & Co. ATP 250 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championship.
