In a Hip-Hop community full of garbage - and we do mean hot garbage, there shines a real contender actually worth listening to and his name is Killa P. According to his press statement he stated:
“Keyon "Killa P" Purite was born in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Ronald Purite, an African American musician. In 2002, Killa P moved to Ann arbor, mi after the tragic death of his brother. Finding ways to cope, he began to study underground and industry rap music. Already having experience in performing in front of live crowds, Killa P launched his music career in 2006 by releasing his first mix tape, "truth in da booth" with the super group pinnacle music group. Keyon "Killa P" Purite has established himself as a multi-talented music artist, entrepreneur and entertainer and his strong following has great expectations for him. Killa P has since moved to Houston, TX to continue his career in music.”
What we like about him is that he firstly has a great sound. What we mean by this is that he has a full comprehensive sound when you’re listening to his music from a good set of speakers/monitors. Lyrically, his flow is very reminiscent of Detroit Michigan Hip-Hop Artist Royce da 5’9 - meaning that his lyrical delivery is deliberately coherent, direct, smooth throughout with punchlines again that are reminiscent to Michigan native Royce Da 5’9.

This is not to say that he is exactly like Royce da 5’9 but we needed to include a reference point for you to understand if you have not heard Killa P’s music. Outside of being on stage and behind the mic in general - he’s very approachable and transparent. One can see exactly why he is as talented as he is. While watching him perform a few songs at P.O.P. Night at the Jamaica Jamaica Ultra Lounge located at 11322 Westheimer Rd. Houston Texas 77082 which was hosted by KLP Consulting I witnessed first-hand his musical talent and his ability to maintain the crowd's interest during his stage performance.
If you are looking for Hip-Hop music, that will move you in the spirit of true Hip-Hop with a true mid-western feel; then you have to take the time out to give Killa P a listen. In fact, we strongly urge you to purchase his latest album entitled “With Time Comes Ugly Truth” currently steaming on all digital platforms.
