As predicted, Israel has not been able to defeat and eradicate Hamas. In a recent turn of events, it was reported that it seems as if Hamas has never left the Gaza strip. Although smaller in size due to fighting against Israel with some reports stating that Hamas has become weaker, it appears that the opposite is true. To date Hamas has grown by some estimates up to roughly 15,000 fighters and is expected to increase in size. As Gazan’s have been allowed by Israel to return to their homes, Hamas fighters have been seen not only celebrating in the streets, but carrying out funerals, and aiding Gazan’s in the delivery of much needed humanitarian aid. Political pundits around the world have been calling Israel’s Prime Minister  Benjamin Netanyahu’s war against Hamas in Gaza not only a failure but a feat that he would never be able to accomplish since his announcement in the first place.

It was also reported that Hamas stated that they would like to be a part of strategic talks on how to rebuild and who would govern Gaza post-war. Senior Hamas politburo official Moussa Abu Marzou stated to the press that Hamas was not seeking to necessarily govern the Gaza strip, but Hamas was more interested in ensuring security for the people of Gaza. Moussa Abu Marzou has also criticized American President Trump's idea that the people of Gaza should migrate to other neighboring countries such as Egypt and Jordan and rightfully so.

It can be said that President Trump’s suggestion is both short sighted and reckless. This is because President Trump has demonstrated with this idea that he has not considered or simply disregarded the ethnic and cultural differences and socio-economic implications and possible adverse ramifications between the people of Gaza, Egypt and Jordan. Moussa Abu Marzou stated to the Press that: “No Palestinian or Arab will accept Trump’s idea of displacement”; and that may very well be true.

What Israel and America have done in the region, especially when it comes to their war on the people of Gaza, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Ansar Allah, is the creation of a haven for future terrorist organizations, general animosity, and extremism amongst the Palestinian people. Don’t think for one minute that the children of Palestine and Gaza will forget and/or be accepting of Israel and America in the next two to three generations. We are able to say this because these people have seen their homes destroyed, loved ones killed by the hands of the Israeli’s and the Americans, and they have experienced displacement, disease, and famine. In experiencing all that, it's not easy to forgive and forget and the question of the day is why should the people of Palestine do so?

It is our position at VEDA Communications that Hamas has an uphill battle on their hands, and it is one that they must deal with head-on and directly. For if they are done, then Israel and America will attempt to eradicate the people of Gaza from their land one Palestinian at a time. Isreal has already demonstrated their willingness to engage in genocide with the help of the Americans. The world is asking how will Hamas and other Arab countries respond to any other future Israel and American aggression towards the people of Gaza? The only answer to that question is time will tell. This war in Gaza and against the Palestinian people is far from over and is likely to bloom into something else much more deadly than before.
