Houston City Council Hopeful Lloyd Ford of District D

If there’s one thing, we can say, is that it’s official and it’s about time that someone from the younger generation is stepping into the world of politics in the City of Houston. For far too long politics on the Federal, State, and Local Levels have been disproportionately represented by significantly older people that are so out of touch with the younger generation that they simply fail to grasp the hearts and minds of the youth. And when we say the youth in the world of politics, we are talking about anyone under the age of 40. With that being said, we at Veda Magazine would like to introduce to you the future of politics within the Houston City Council, Lloyd Ford of District D.

Outside of his youth, what we liked about Houston City Council Candidate Lloyd Ford was that he has demonstrated that he is quite politically savvy in the arena of banking and finance. On the topic of banks and finance he touched on how banks are indirectly engaging in the practice of “Economic Redlining”. This can be seen as a discriminatory scheme that was utilized in the past by banks in which they systematically denied home loans to Black Americans and other minorities that lived in the United States. And just like the practice of Redlining in the past, banks are now funding cheap businesses such as Family Dollars and Dollar Trees in socio-economically disadvantaged communities which end up purposely paying poor people unlivable wages thus, trapping them in these impoverished neighborhoods with no real opportunity to get out.

We also liked the fact that Lloyd Ford is a man of respect and integrity. During our conversation he made it a point to be as transparent as he possibly could and utilized every opportunity to demonstrate his ability to be an upright dedicated man that is worthy of being in a position of public trust. When he spoke you could “feel” for lack of better terms how passionately dedicated he was to not only positively pushing for social change, but you could feel and trust the sincerity of his voice when he spoke of the things that are happening in the community and how these issues are adversely impacting the people within the community. But it wasn’t just the fact that he addressed the social issues of District D in the City of Houston. It was the fact that he had real world applicable solution to the social issues that adversely affects not only district d, but other communities across the City of Houston.

We encourage you to take the time out to watch this exclusive Veda Interview with Houston Texas City Council Candidate Lloyd Ford of District D. Being a man of good moral character with a high degree of integrity combined with his youth and fresh ideas will undoubtedly bring new blood and vitality into a political space that is over saturated with decayed ideologies and methods of governance. Lloyd Ford appears to be a man that will bring life and a new perspective on strategic political planning and execution into Houston District D.
