Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s time once again and the one thing that I love to do is highlight Freelancers, business owners, Entrepreneurs, Influencers, and Creatives on their journey to success and what advice they have for anyone trying to start a business or work for themselves. Today, we will be highlighting Jonah Ramirez, the CEO of Orlando Stucco - Repair and Talented singer and songwriter from Orlando, Florida. I had the chance to catch up with Jonah and we had a great conversation, and it went like this:
BA: Jonah My Man how have you been? It's Been a While.
JONAH: What’s Good Brother!!! I’m Doing well and you’re right. It's almost been a year now.
BA: Bro I’m still showing people the video of you performing do for love at CoCo’s on the Canal.
JONAH: Bro that’s one of my favorite songs to sing.
BA: I see bro and I love that plus added with your accent it's a chef’s kiss. While we were talking about it, I wanted to ask Who has been your biggest supporter or mentor on your journey?
JONAH: The musicians that have joined me on stage
BA: That's Great Bro, this is why I say networking is a big key to success. Tell me how these other musicians made an impact on your success
JONAH: They inspired me to become better and to be in the service of others, and to follow My dreams.
BA: That's what I’m talking about bro i love that we as creatives uplift each other. Where did you find the best opportunities to grow
JONAH: Reviews help so much, networking on events, going to concerts and speaking to people.
BA: So, when did you experience a turning point in your career?
JONAH: When I got offered recording deals and turned them down.
BA: So, what led to that Breakthrough? What valuable lesson did you learn that you would share?
JONAH: I Believe there’s a little bit of God in every person you meet. But the experience did Teach me to lawyer up when offered contracts.
BA: I heard that we are in a world full of wolves out for themselves, but we should always protect ourselves and our babies. So, looking back, what was the most defining moment in your journey that Shaped your path? Did your environment or community influence your success?
JONAH: I dropped out of high school Because I knew I did not want to follow that path. I come from a small country town in Venezuela, so I had nothing to lose and all to gain
BA: Wow man that must have been tough but look at all the success it's brought you. You are a Business Owner and A talented musician that's still making moves. Where can we find your music and how can people get a look at your business?
JONAH: Oh yeah just search Jonah Ramirez on all platforms and look up orlandostuccorepair.net in any search Engine
BA: Perfect Jonah it's been great catching up with you man hopefully you come back to Texas soon to perform again.
JONAH: Brother it was great getting to talk to you again. Hopefully I can soon, I have new music on the way so be on the lookout!
When a child is born, most of the time that child is born with a bag of lemons. What we mean by that is that that child is born with no instructions and no directions. Ans as that child grows, it starts learning how to use those lemons to make lemonade. However, what it's not taught or told is that once you run out of lemons you will have to find a way to get more. Jonah kept his faith in God and bet all his lemons on himself. Most people would find that to be a fool's bet, and in most cases, it is. But for Jonah he was able to win by betting on himself.
Now as he swims happily in his success, when he needs something to quench his thirst, he now has plenty of lemons to use to make lemonade. The moral of the story is that life is hard and will always be hard and it often gets worse by the day. But even with that being the fact, you should never give up on your dreams. When life gives you lemons, find a way and make lemonade. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Bruce Avery II signing off, until next time, keep your heads up and stay focused.
