Houston TX Transgender Community – Not Accepted

Written by Michael Thervil

A recent article written by Joy Sewing for the Houston Chronicle makes the claim that: “Houston Transgender Community, However Small, Deserves To Feel Safe, Free And Proud”. Most people in Houston and around the country are inclined to agree with that in the sense that transgender people should be respected, because at the end of the day they are people too. However, the overwhelming consensus of people in Houston, the country and the rest of the world holds the position that transgender people will never be generally accepted and thus will always be doomed to social rejection.

The reason for this is because the notion of allowing someone to become transgender goes against societal norms, social expectations and gender role expectations that have been already well established if not permanently embedded in a society. Additionally, people in general, no matter where they live in the world, will reject ideas, perspectives and perceptions that are forced onto them. This is especially true when it clashes with their religions and political value systems. Furthermore, the idea of allowing transgender people to “roam free”, essentially purposely staining the social fabric of a society, further adds to the already moral decaying of a society. It doesn’t matter if it’s only 16 or 1.6 million of them in America, they can and will be socially, ethically, morally, and religiously considered absurd by the general society – and for many people in the general society they can and will be considered socially offensive.

Another thing that was covered in the article is the propensity for transgender people to experience violence from members of the general society. While many people don’t advocate the use of violence against other people in America – it could be understood why some people would commit acts of violence towards people that fall into the category of being transgender. Take the issue that Fayetteville North Carolina was having with transgender and crossdressing prostitutes in their city. “Tricks” and “Johns” were committing acts of violence and some cases even killing them (transgenders).

Why? Because even though they were engaging in criminal behavior by soliciting prostitution, they were extremely offended by someone passing themselves off as a woman when they were not. What pushed many of these Tricks and Johns over the edge to commit acts of violence was because the transgenders and crossdressers themselves were committing literal acts of deception and “sexual-identity fraud” for monetary gain. In other words, they were robbing the Tricks and Johns of their right to “choose” from a bio-evolutionary perspective (“psycho-emotional rape”).

In other words, allowing transgender people to “roam free” and to push the unwanted acceptance of them onto the general society is tantamount to being seen as a heavy bio-evolutionary, moral, religious, and intellectual assault by many, which will not be accepted. Hence this is what leads to the continued rejection of transgender people on an international scale.
