Over the weekend in Houston Texas there was a Palestine/Gaza/Lebanon protest on City Hall located on 901 Bagby St, Houston, TX 77002; the Mayor of Houston was not present. Specialized Houston police units and mounted patrol were highly visible throughout the duration of the march up to and around the building of City Hall. It appeared that Houston citizens have had enough of America supporting of Israel’s genocidal campaign on the people of not just Gaza and Palestine, but now the people of Lebanon. Although a peaceful protest, the protestors marched and took up space around City Hall holding up signs and placards in support of the people of Palestine/Gaza and Lebanon.

Exactly what the protestors were looking to achieve on the local level was unclear, as this is an American Government issue. One of the biggest issues concerning the war in West Asia which has appeared to have struck their nerves was how the children are adversely being impacted in the region by Israel’s actions. Children in the region are either being killed, seriously wounded, maimed, forced to encounter diseases like polio, and or having to deal with the unwanted psychological trauma that is associated with being in a war zone. Saturday’s protest at Houston City Hall consisted of both non-Arab protestors and protestors from the Houston Arab community coming together in solidarity.

Besides protestors wearing shemagh to show their support for Palestine/Gaza and the people of Lebanon, there was also a speaker who took to the steps of Houston’s City Hall. We were not able to obtain his name. For the people in attendance his words sounded like a rally call for justice and peace for all the people that have fallen victim to Israel’s genocidal campaign. But with all the marching and protest going on around the world and in Houston, it begs the question of if the terms “Extremism/Extremist”, is the proper term to use when it comes to describing people’s frustration with not only Israel and it actions; but with why America and the Collective West is continuing to fund Israel even in the face of obvious wrongdoing on the international stage.

How much longer will people’s frustrations be ignored within the continental United states until one of them or a group of U.S. Citizens engage in acts of violence on the behalf of Gaza/Palestine and or now Lebanon? Although violence has no face – there is one face that everyone can associate with violence of this kind and it’s the one below in the following photo. Be mindful that no one group of people should be stereotyped in any kind way; but the reality is, stereotypes exist all over the world.

As of late, the FBI has issued a warning that some act of violence may occur on the anniversary of Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7th. It is our prediction that nothing will happen – at least just not yet. Has anyone in America gotten that frustrated about what’s going on in West Asia to violently lash out? There haven’t been any indications at this time.
