It was reported that the liberal Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to resign between today and Wednesday of this week. While many people outside of Canada are asking why, Canadian citizens seem to have a strong list of reasons why Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should step down. The first thing on the list is inflation, followed by the general high cost of living, then a failed immigration policy, turning a blind eye to Khalistani extremists, and then there is inability for Canadians to afford adequate housing. Canadian citizens have been dealing with these issues and more for quite some time. But even more than that, it’s the controversies that have been looming over the head of the Prime Minister.
From engaging in acts that have conflicted with his duties as Prime Minister to outright taking bribes and payoffs in the form of lavish vacations and gifts; to the wear of what is known as “Black face”’ which is a form of stylized makeup that was used in the late 18th century to the 1940’s to imitate the appearance of “Black skin”. This form of makeup is perceived as offensive and racist to many people of African descent. This occurrence demonstrates how “out of touch” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was and possibly still is when it comes to both governorship and cultural awareness.
Then there was the controversy of the assignation of Sikh Hardeep Singh Nijjar. In a previous article entitled: “Prime Minister Trudeau, Hardeep Nijjar, India, A Powder-keg”. This involved a clash between Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s claim that the Indian government was involved in a plot to assassinate Hardeep Singh Nijjar when it was brought to light that the Indian government provided the Canadian government intelligence that suggested that: “According to the Indian Government, Hardeep Singh Nijjar was a both Terrorist in India and the culprit of several bombings in India. (VEDA Communications 9/25/2023)”. This situation resulted in the Prime Minister expelling Indian Diplomats out of Canada and souring the geopolitical relationship between Canada and India.
Technically, Canada is supposed to have their national election this year, but with PM Justin Trudeau more than likely resigning early, people are wondering who will succeed him. Currently the next in line for succession would have been Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs Chrystia Freeland. But she resigned after PM Trudeau attempted to demote her back in December of 2024. Going back to PM Justin Trudeau , it was reported that he attempted to persuade Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc to succeed him, but the conflict of interest lies in the fact that FM Dominic LeBlanc was planning on throwing his hat in the ring for a leadership position. At this point in time, it's no telling who will become Canada's next interim Prime Minister.
Whether PM Justin Trudeau is being forced out, trying his best to politically save face or he simply doesn’t want it anymore, many political pundits think it's time for PM Justin Trudeau to pop smoke. This is especially true if his disapproval in the polls stands at roughly 68% -73%.
