Believe it or not, Houston does have an all-women’s professional volleyball team and Last night’s match-up between Houston and Atlanta women's volleyball team was very exciting. This game marks the last home game of the first season of LOVB Houston Volleyball. Even though Houston lost to Atlanta last night, Atlanta had to really work for it. Granted, Atlanta is the number one team in the women's volleyball league right now, but that could change next season. LOVB Houston, like LOVB Atlanta, is a very strong team. But at the end of the match, it was Atlanta who defeated Houston 3-1.

Statistically, looking at the match totals and considering all points earned, Atlanta led Houston 60 to 63, with Atlanta occurring 28 errors to Houston's 24. The scoring percentage between the two teams for this game stood at 47.1% (Atlanta) and Houston standing at 46.6% with Atlanta having a side out at 45.3% to Houston’s 47.4% when it came to attacking. This is where Houston led by a small margin with 50 kills (37.3%) to Atlanta’s 46 (36.5%). In terms of blocking Atlanta led by one with 7 a total of 7 (14.0%) blocks for the game to Houston 6 blocks (15.8%). Atlanta also led when it came to positive touches 42.0% to Houston’s 39.5%.

In terms of defense, Atlanta had a significant lead over Houston with 60 digs at 77.9% to Houston’s 54 (79.4%). Many LOVB Houston fans felt as if Houston could have done better on the course when it came to defense, but when you look at how Atlanta performed, it's sort of easy to see how and why Atlanta's defense dominated Houston in this area. The good news is that Houston led when it came to reception 46.2% with a passing average of 2.15 while Atlanta stood at 34.7% with a passing average of 2.00. Both teams fared equally well in terms of serving with both teams standing at 7 aces. Houston led in the setting category with 47 assists to Atlanta’s 45.

The player of the game was Atlanta's McKenzie Adams, who scored a whopping 18 points, 15 kills, 1 block and 8 digs. Our only regret here at VEDA Communications is that we were not able to attend all of the season’s games for LOVB Houston. But what we can say is that not only should you take the time out to attend a LOVB Houston match, but you should also bring a friend. Again, even though Houston may have lost this particular game, we can say with a very firm conviction that LOVB Houston will most definitely keep you on the edge of your seats as they do their thing on the court. Last night's game is the last home game for Houston of the 2025 season, and we can't wait to see what LOVB Houston has in store for the 2026 season.
