MLR: HOUSTON SABERCATS VS. SEATTLE SEAWOLVES (24-21)

The Houston SaberCats win over the Seattle Seawolves put them in a very good place for the start of the 20215 season. What we mean by this is that the Houston SaberCats rank number one in the MLR western conference and that’s no small feat.  Although last night's game was a brutal one, you shouldn’t expect anything less when it comes to rugby and the Houston SaberCats . Looking at last night's game when it came to try’s, the SaberCats and the Seattle Seawolves were tied with 3 try’s apiece. In terms of ball possession, the SaberCats had ball possession 56.22% of the time to the Seattle Seawolves 43.23.

 

The Houston SaberCats were also able to take up most of the real estate on the field with them owning 56.22% to the Seattle Seawolves 43.78%. That 7% difference is significant in the fact that it demonstrated how aggressive the SaberCats were on the field last night. where the SaberCats fell behind was when it came to tackles, the Seattle Seawolves were able to execute 165 tackles to the SaberCats 106. But the SaberCats made up for that when it came to carrying 387m (1269ft) (SaberCats ) 213m (698ft) (Seattle Seawolves ).

 

The SaberCats also took the lead when it came to crossed gain lines 66-26 and both teams fared equally when it came to conversions earning 3 conversions apiece. The SaberCats had made a penalty goal, Seattle Seawolves zero. The SaberCats kicked an impressive 551 meters to the Seattle Seawolves 415 meters. Both teams came close in terms of lineouts and won with the SaberCats having 15 to the Seattle Seawolves 16. Lastly the SaberCats had 15 penalties conceded to the Seattle Seawolves 13.

 

Win, lose, or draw, the Houston SaberCats are a team to be reckoned with on the field. Their defense ability is very strong, and their offensive game is phenomenal. Fans of the Houston SaberCats are wondering what is in store for them when they face off against the Utah warriors next Saturday on march the 8th at 3pm at the Zions Bank Stadium; Herriman, Utah.
