Houston SaberCats fans packed the stadium this past Saturday just to  get a front row seat to watch the Houston SaberCats open up a can of whoop ass on the San Diego on the pitch. The San Diego legion should think about changing their name to the “San Diego Lesions”. By the way Houston SaberCats in all of their glory absolutely dominated them on the pitch to the point that we don’t know if they could ever show their faces on the field ever again – at least in Houston. but in all seriousness, San Diego played a good game but their game just wasn’t good enough to defeat the Houston SaberCats Saturday.

During the course of this match the Houston SaberCats had 4 try’s to the San Diego’s 2 with the Houston SaberCats having passion of the ball 53.72% of the time when compared to San Diego possessing the ball 46.27% of the time. Again, SaberCats dominated both San Diego and the pitch by taking up 53.52% of the territory on the pitch when compared to San Diego’s 46.48%. now when it came to tackles this is where the Houston SaberCats fell slightly behind with 115 tackles to San Diego’s 158. But no matter how many tackles the San Diego Legion were able to make, they simply couldn’t stop the SaberCats from executing key plays and scoring. This was proven by the amount of carrying meters the Houston SaberCats obtained which stood at 461 to San Diego’s 329.

The Houston SaberCats had 66 crossed gain-lines to San Diego’s 41. Both teams tied when it came to conversions (2). The SaberCats were able to make 2 penalty goals to San Diego’s 0. While San Diego was able to kick 743 meters, the SaberCats overshadowed them  by kicking a whopping 978 meters. When it comes to line out won, the SaberCats stood at 11 to San Diego’s 20. Lastly, when looking at the penalties conceded, the SaberCats also stood at 10 to San Diego’s 15.

Again, this was a great game to watch as fans of the Houston SaberCats not only sold out every seat in the stadium but there was an overflow of fans in the parking lot. Also, if you haven’t been to a Houston SaberCats tailgate party, you’re missing out on an experience of a lifetime. The next Houston SaberCats match-up will be against RFC Los Angels on April 5th at 7:00pm. Click here to purchase your tickets as this is another match you don’t want to miss. Although we haven’t seen any win probability percentages as of yet, like the fans of the Houston SaberCats we are hoping for a SaberCats win as RFC Los Angels stands 5th three slots under the SaberCats in the National Rugby League.
