Alex Cross Trailer Amazon Prime Video
If you’re a fan of the James Patterson Alex Cross series of novels, then you are going to love the Alex Cross Amazon prime series. This 8-part series was created by Ben Watkins and Directed by a conglomerate of directors which include Stacey Muhammad, Craig Siebels, Nzignha Stewart, Carl Seaton, and Julien Christian Lutz (Director x). It should be noted that this Amazon series was shot in Detroit Michigan, Ohio, Toronto Ontario, and Washington DC and earned a designated TV-MA rating.
The main character Alex Cross was originally played by Morgan Freeman in the 1997 film entitled “Kiss The Girls” and again in 2001 in a film entitled “Along Came A Spider”. However In this series Alex Cross is played by Aldis Hodge, who to his credit gives a hell of a performance as he struggles not only with the death of his wife, but being praised as a brilliant Washington D.C. Detective that puts himself in the position of being doubted as an obsessed Detective that is willing to put everything including his reputation on the line in order to catch a sadistic serial killer.
The serial killer “Picasso” who is played by Matthew Fox who is just as lucid as he is able to be seen by many is extremely cunning in this film and proves to be a match for Alex Cross. However, in a twist of events, Alex Cross also must deal with an estranged mother Karen Robinson (Miss Nancy) and her son played by Ryan Allen (Peter Lenox), who is an enraged convict filled with revenge that is hell bent on stalking and destroying Cross’s family. In this cat and mouse game, Detective Cross also struggles with balancing his work as a Detective, raising his son who bears the backlash of his egregious police actions on a civilian, and finding and making love with Elle Monteiro played by Samantha Walkes.
Other notable characters worthy of note within this series are Juanita Jennings (Regina “Nana Mama” Cross), Melody Hurd (Janelle Cross), Isaiah Mustafa (Detective John Sampson), Caleb and Elijah (Damon Cross). The Alex Cross Amazon series when compared to the 2012 Alex Cross film directed by Tyler Perry is far grittier and has a deeper storyline than that created by Tyler Perry. This is not to say that the Tyler Perry version is not good because it’s absolutely a great film, it's just that the Alex Cross Amazon series goes a lot more in depth with the characters, has more plot twists, is shot darker, and has more suspense than the Tyler Perry version.

It was reported that the second season of Alex Cross is currently in the works, but there is no set date for its release.
