Some 1990's Adult Magazines
As you well know by now, we at VEDA Magazine have an eclectic appreciation of 1990’s porn. Not simply because there is sex involved or because it’s just out right sexy; but because of the photographic anesthetics of the way 90’s porn was shot and produced. In a past article entitled: “Bring Back 90’s Porn”, we took the liberty to highlight many (not all) of the hottest Porn-stars of that particular era. In this article we are taking the liberty to highlight several adult magazines of the 90’s. if you’re looking for Playboy, Hustler, or Penthouse, they won’t be mentioned here as that will be topic for another article here at VEDA Magazine.
Today we are highlighting “Pictorial”, “Black Dolls” and “Girls” adult magazines. What we liked about these adult magazines and other adult magazines of the time was that they highlighted the natural beauty of the women featured in their respective magazines. This is a far cry from the women of today’s adult magazines where the women simply appear to be too made up. We know it’s trendy but again, the last time we checked men like to marvel at the natural beauty of the women and not a woman that appears to be “manufactured”. If you’re wondering what we are talking about we are talking about the excessive use of make-up and other artificial body and beauty enhancements.
With all the adult magazines floating around the globe (hardcopy and digital), we really appreciated the 1990’s “soft glow” photo effect. We suppose that this particular photo effect was used to enhance the visual experience of their magazines like so many others at the time with the “fantasy” or “alluring dream state” look. Again, only for those that are connoisseurs of pornography can and will appreciate this particular style of pornographic editing. Another thing outside of the pornographic real estate of each of these magazines were the “classified” or “personal ads” that seem to always find themselves into the back pages of the magazine before there was a such thing as “backpage.com”; which was shut down years ago because of the solicitation of prostitution on their website.
For those that can remember, it can be somewhat of an amazement to even think that these personal ads even existed, and that people actually used these adult personal ads back in the day. Having the ability to watch people “graduate” (for lack of better terms) from physical ads to making and answering online adult ads is mind-blowing for some. Just look at how far society has come. We literally went from shy dirty freaks in the closet to “bustin’ in wide open at any given time of the day. That’s something to think about.
