“We treat everyone with care, except our enemies”; one of the most accurate statements made by Russian President Vladimir Putin because he understands how the world works. President Vladimir Putin takes the time out to meet and answer the questions of journalists from BRICS Countries off-the-cuff ahead of the upcoming BRICS Summit that is set to occur on the 22nd to the 24th of this week.  The reason why this Q&A with Journalists from BRICS countries is important and relevant is because of the dynamic change of the world’s economic trading, business and monetary transactions morphing from a unipolar to a multi-polarized apparatus.

Journalists from China, India, South Africa, Egypt, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, and Ethiopia engaged President Putin in dialogue  via Q&A answered questions on a wide variety of topics that include: China-Russia relations and diplomatic ties, Russian advocacy for a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine in light of the multi-sided war in the region of West Asia, how the Collective West has use Ukraine as a proxy in retarding the political growth and development in the eastern Europe, NATO and Ukraine, the use of nuclear weapons, and surprising arts and entertainment amongst other pressing socio-economic issues of the day.

When it comes to the topic of education and Africa, President Vladimir Putin stated that many Africans, specifically Ethiopians have received their education in Russia. President Putin also spoke about the importance of maintaining educational ties with Ethiopia, which has gone back as far as the days of the former Soviet Union. One of the biggest questions that was directly asked to President Putin was that concerning the future prospects of the BRICS collective. President Putin stated the following:

“Frankly speaking, amidst all the active conflicts in the world today, I think that the advancement of BRICS will have a beneficial effect on the global developments, if it develops based on the principles I mentioned earlier, namely, non-confrontation and cooperation solely in the interests of the group countries.”

“As you see, we are not creating some sort of bloc as an opposition to someone’s interests. This is not a bloc organization; it has a universal character, and I think it will have an overall positive impact on global affairs, including the global economy.”

Another point President Putin made regarding America’s attempts to stop China. President Putin stated that:

“The United States is 15 years too late; they cannot stop China’s progress. It is impossible, just as it is impossible to tell the sun not to rise. It will rise anyway”

President Putin also made a very striking comment concerning the International Criminal Court (ICC) when he was asked by a Journalist: “do you fear getting arrested in Brazil?”. This question was asked because of the arrest warrant that was issued by the International Criminal Court against him because of the Special Military Operation now turned war in Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin confidently stated:

“I would like to say that the International Criminal Court has no universal power. This is an international organization whose jurisdiction Russia does not recognize, like many other countries. I believe the US does not recognize it, and neither do China and Türkiye.”

We urge you to take a listen to the Journalist of the BRICS countries in attendance and the Q&A between BRICS Journalist and Russian President Vladimir Putin as it is a very enlightening conversation.
