Peter of Project Hope
There are a few things that absolutely 100% of people around the world can agree on. And one of these few things is people helping people in their time of need. Today, in Houston Texas we take great pleasure in reporting about a non-profit organization by the name of Project Hope that’s located at 8448 Park Place Blvd, Houston, Tx 77017. Project Hope is a non-profit organization that helps the residents of Houston in two ways.
The first being that it helps both men and women obtain the treatment that they need to overcome any addiction that they may face. In the information age that we live in today, you should know that addiction comes in all forms – from drugs and alcohol to shopping and sexual, and other additions such as tobacco use and food and yes even work. What we are saying here is that anyone can become addicted to anything.
The second thing that this Houston Texas based organization provides is food drives and food acceptance for the citizens of Houston. It is an amazing sight to bear witness to as the members of Project Hope passionately provide this service unselfishly. While providing coverage for this community event, we took the time out to speak with Peter who was the organizer of this event. He informed us that Project Hope is an program that was of course created as a recovery center for people that suffer from addiction but he also informed us that in order to be apart of this program, an applicant would have to devote at least one year of themselves to not only working on themselves so that can change their lifestyle while serving the community; but they have to become free of the addiction while they are in the program.
According to Peter who’s spearheading the food distribution team, the lines have been growing every week. And it has been growing so much in fact, that he has seen the line stretch from Galveston Road and Park Place all the way back to the 45 expressway on the southside of Houston Texas.
Here’s the best part of the program – it's centered around men. You read right, it’s for men. We are highlighting this fact because there has always been a tremendous amount of programs for women. It seems that women have always had shelters for women and children, governmental kickbacks, and governmental subsidies – but very rarely do people see any organization that specifically focuses on the needs of men. According to their website the goal of Project Hope is to:
“See individuals become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well, and spiritually alive.”
Another great thing about Project Hope is that they’re open 24 hours a day to receive anyone who is struggling with addiction. If you think you or anyone that you know may be struggling with addiction, we at VEDA Magazine urge you to reach out to Project Hope at 877-491-3816. You can also reach out to them on their website at: projecthoperc.com as they have an intake form you can fill out online. Again, Project Hope is located at 8448 Park Place Blvd, Houston, Tx 77017, but they also have two other locations located in Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi and they have a men’s and women’s home in Arkansas.
If you need food assistance because you’re facing economic hard times, you can call Project Hope at 1-877-491-3816 and find out the location where they are distributing food every Wednesday. If you are suffering from any kind of addiction, do not feel ashamed. Reach out to Project Hope. Remember addiction doesn’t discriminate.
