It was reported this morning that the individual that was/is responsible for the death of Russian Lieutenant General Igor Kirillo (54-years of age) and his deputy is a 29-year-old Uzbek citizen that was recruited and promised a payment of $100,000 and an escape ticket to the EU (European Union) of by the Ukrainian Special Services. The person responsible for this assassination was located and arrested in Chernoye, which is a village located in the Moscow Balashikha District. Russian authorities also stated that there is another person of interest that was seen walking with the assassin outside of an apartment building in southeast Moscow just moments before the bomb that was placed in a scooter went off. The Ukrainian Security Service claimed responsibility for the attack.

On top of that, it was reported by Russian authorities that the bombing device was remotely detonated with live video playback to Dnipro. Lieutenant General Igor Kirillo was the departmental head of the Russian military’s chemical, biological and radiological weapons unit and was accused by Ukraine and Britain of deploying chemical weapons in Ukraine and was sanctioned by Britain. Whether the allegations are true or not, that’s up for debate. But what we know is true is that this is considered as an escalation of tensions between Russia and Ukraine. The actions of this assassin have also prompted Russia to extend executive and force protection details to members of its senior military staff and personnel in light of this situation.

The world and especially Ukraine knows exactly where this type of attack on Russian soil will result in. The only thing left to do is sit back and watch the intensity of the war between Ukraine and Russia morph into something worthy of being written into the history books of the international community with Ukraine on the losing end of the stick.
