Teachers Are Leaving The Profession & Violence In American Schools

Written by Michael Thervil

Teachers across America are fed up. They are tired of the long hours, low pay, the ever-increasing responsibilities, the excessive number of students misbehaving in their classrooms, the students that dress like whores and bums, and the lack of respect and support from parents. The question is are teachers failing or is America failing their teachers and educational staff? We ran into a teacher on Instagram that has no problem telling like it is and we commend her. But when will America do something to elevate the undue pressure on its teachers and educational system as a whole?

Only time will tell. According to a teacher who’s Instagram handle is @talkintia, the education profession “is a sinking ship” and that is the reason why so many teachers and educators across America are “jumping ship” while they can. They are cashing in on their retirement and any other perks and benefits that they are owed as teachers. She also stated in so many words; nobody wants to rock the boat. What this means is that people in the field of education are afraid to speak up and speak out against the atrocities that are going on within the American educational system.

But the number thing that got our attention as it should get yours is the high level of violence committed by students towards teachers and staff. Yes, there are School Resource Officers, school security and police in the school, but they can go so far as to how they engage and handle problematic students in the school system. Like you we have heard of teachers that have been not only verbally assaulted but physically assaulted so badly, they’ve been put into a coma, unable to teach again or at least too afraid to do so.

When it comes to fixing the American educational system – there are just too many variables that need to be addressed to rectify the problems within the school system itself. Many people are calling for school system reforms. But how can they reform something that appears to be fundamentally broken on purpose. What we mean by this is that, it take a tremendous amount of funding to reform the school system in America and the politicians and government are doing very little finically to make the necessary changes possible so that teachers won’t have to quit because of the long hours, low pay, the ever-increasing responsibilities, the excessive number of students misbehaving in their classrooms, the students that dress like whores and bums, and the lack of respect and support from parents.
