In this presidential address to the people living and working in the Murmansk region of Russia, Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin touched on a variety of topics concerning the Arctic. Topics such as education and employment, reaffirming his commitment to upholding and enhancing Russia's security; he even gave a brief history lesson on America and its talks, plans, and failed efforts on how to annex Greenland. Moreover, President Vladimir Putin touched on how serious American President Donald Trump currently is with his talks of annexing Greenland whether it b by diplomatic or militaristic means. This presidential address by Vladimir Putin is yet another one to watch because it is filled with gems that both geopolitical analysts and commoners can benefit from in one way or another.
According to President Vladimir Putin:
“We will not tolerate any encroachments on our country’s sovereignty and will steadfastly safeguard our national interests. By upholding peace and stability in the Arctic region, we will ensure its long-term socio-economic development, improve the quality of life for its residents, and preserve its unique natural environment.”
These words are words often espoused by world leaders the world over, but very few have followed through on these words. Keep in mind that neither President Vladimir Putin nor the Russian people bluff when it comes to exercising their rights or when it comes to articulating their national sovereignty on the world stage. President Vladimir Putin also touches on how important the Arctic is to it and this is because at least roughly 25% of the Arctic lies in its back yard. Again, we at VEDA Communications urge you to take the time out to listen to this address.
