Last night’s game was one that was very entertaining. Even though this game is not a conference game, it gave both teams the opportunity to hone their skills on the court and show each other what they got. TSU captivated the fans by displaying great ball movement, keeping pressure on the court, showing great assists, and of course showing off their aerial skills by dunking. In the first half TSU led 50-30 and in the second half TSU led 58-42. Last night’s game resulted in TSU defeating the college of biblical studies 108-72.
However, even though the College of Biblical Studies may have lost this one to TSU, they displayed great teamwork, ball handling and were generally good from the outside. But even with them displaying good skill they still were unable to defeat TSU. Now here’s something that you want to keep in mind, the College of Biblical Studies basketball team is still a fairly new team with a record prior to last lights game of 6 wins 5 lost overall.
The TSU player that stood out to us the most during last night’s game was Jahmar Young (#2). And the reason for this is because of his prowess on the court. Already seen as a talented player, he gave the TSU fans in attendance even more than what they bargained for last night by obtaining 10 points, 5 blocks, 5 rebounds, 4-4 field goals, with 21 minutes of playing time. His success in last night’s games was spearheaded by Head Coach Johnny Jones, and thus he was able to strategically place himself in just the right positions to get on the inside the paint and dunk over the competition in various parts of the game. Even more than that the energy was just there – and the crowd loved it.
Take a bow Jahmar Young, you played an excellent game last night. And to all the men that make up the Texas Southern University Men’s Basketball team – you guys also did a fantastic job last night. We at VEDA Magazine look forward to seeing you dominate on the court during the Conference Games throughout this season.
