Although illegitimate President Vladimir Zelensky stated that he would be willing to embark on a cease-fire deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he has now appeared to backtrack the notion. In a turn of event Vladimir Zelensky stated that:
“If we want to stop the hot phase of the war, we need to take under the NATO umbrella the territory of Ukraine that we have under our control.” “We need to do it fast. And then on the territory of Ukraine, Ukraine can get them back in a diplomatic way.”
At this point in time, for many people including what little Ukrainian troops he has left, Vladimir Zelensky is looking and sounding more like a complete idiot than a political figurehead of a country. Russia, who has out gunned Ukraine and it’s soldiers and who is currently winning and by some accounts have already won the war has specifically stated that Ukraine cannot be a part of NATO as it violates the Minsk Agreement. Even more than that Russia has also specifically stated that east Ukraine must serve as a buffer zone between them and NATO.
In rebuttal Vladimir Zelensky stated that: ““We cannot, by law, recognize any Ukrainian territory under occupation of Russia as Russian. That is impossible. That is against the Constitution of Ukraine”. For those that are geopolitically astute, after the Russian Revolutionary War, vast parts of eastern Ukraine were reclaimed by the USSR [Russia], which was everything east of the Dnipro River. Backing the historical reference is the fact that Russia has held the position that Ukraine must rein in its troops from the Donbass and comply with Russia's current geographical borders. In doing so, Ukraine cannot join NATO and must maintain its status as a neutral state.
The question is why is Vladimir Zelensky not only backtracking when a deal can be reached and could spare the lives of both him and the people of Ukraine? Why is Vladimir Zelensky so obsessed with joining NATO? Why is Vladimir Zelensky causing unnecessary friction with a force that’s proven themselves to be greater than him? Was he promised something? What does Vladimir Zelensky get out of committing himself to such foolish actions? Even more importantly, why does he let the people of Ukraine suffer in the process of whatever his failed agenda is? The truth is only Vladimir Zelensky knows at this current time. But the one thing the world knows is that Vladimir Zelensky's stubbornness combined with his hard head makes a soft ass and his ass was handed to him in the form of an Oreshnik this past week.
