Why Is AI So Dangerous?

Artificial Intelligence within itself is not inherently dangerous. However, the humans that create Artificial Intelligence are. We decided to highlight the above broadcast on if AI is to be considered dangerous because many people around the world appear to be failing to understand both the positives and negatives of Artificial Intelligence. Moreover, people the world over are failing to understand that we as humans are failing to understand that what we may call the dangers of AI, come not from Artificial Intelligence but from us. We as humans are the racist, we are the bigots, we do the most killing than any other species on the planet earth – adding insult to injury, we human beings often kill animals and each other for sport. But on the opposite side of the same coin, we as humans are able to love, distinguish between right and wrong, and we are able to engage in ethical behavior.

Within the above interview entitled “MEGATHREAT: Why AI Is So Dangerous & How It Could Destroy Humanity | Mo Gawdat” from the YouTube channel entitled “Impact Theory”, it features Mo Gawdat who was the former Chief Business Officer for Google X. In addition, Mo Gawdat has worked on some of the biggest projects for IBM and Microsoft. As a leader in the Tech Industry, he has not only earned the right to predict the future of Artificial Intelligence and where its going, but he has earned the right to forecast how Artificial Intelligence may possibly play a role in manipulating human beings and controlling social change.

Some of the quotes from Mo Gawdat that got our attention from this broadcast were the following:

“We’ve never created a nuclear weapon that can create nuclear weapons.”

“There’s no shutting down AI, there’s no reversing it, there is no stopping the development of it.”

Are we really at the “point of no return”? Many leading scientists and Artificial Intelligence researchers think so. This is one of the reasons as to why many of them were calling for the international slowdown regarding the production and use of Artificial Intelligence across the board. This international slowdown was requested because scientists and researchers alike saw the need for us to obtain better control regarding the development and direction of AI. For if we don’t, we may lose control of it altogether. With that being said, take the time out to give this YouTube broadcast a good listen. It just might change your perspective of Artificial Intelligence in more ways than one.
