Although it was the final game of the season for the Houston Dash, it can be said that the Houston Dash played a very good game against the Bay FC. For many Houston Dash Fans, this season was a tough season for the Houston Dash as a team. With 26 games played, the Houston Dash were only able to win 5. Then there were another 5 games within the season that ended in a draw. That leaves a total of 16 losses the Houston Dash must answer for as a team. We will not go in depth regarding this season’s stats as well will touch on them at a later time. The Dash players who scored during this face-off against Bay FC were Barbara Oliveri and Avery Patterson. Worthy of mention was Houston Dash Goalkeeper Heather Hinz. This was her first time playing on the pitch this season and she did an excellent job defending the goal on the pitch.

As of Saturday, the match-up between the Houston Dash and Bay FC, the Houston Dash were only able to execute 10 shots while Bay FC were able to execute 18 shots.  This leaves Houston Dash’s Fans wondering why their team can’t seem to acquire the drive needed to drive the ball to the goal. When it came to shots on target the Houston Dash had 5 to the Bay FC’s 7. When it came to ball possession the Houston Dash fell behind by 2 points, meaning that they had possession of the ball 48% to the Bay FC’s 51%.

Unfortunately, the Houston Dash also fell behind Bay FC when it came to pass accuracy. This is not to say that they did horrible, but they did fall behind by 3 percentage points with the Bay FC having a pass accuracy of 80% to the Houston Dash’s 77%. Bay FC acquired 17 fouls to the Houston Dash’s 11. The fouls that the Bay FC’s acquired did not come from them necessarily playing aggressive, but it seemed as if they racked the amount of fouls because they appeared to “hack” their way across the pitch.

When it came to the issuance of yellow cards, the Houston Dash acquired 2 to the Bay FC’s 1. No red cards were issued to either team. The Houston Dash received 4 offsides calls to Bay FC’s 3. Lastly, when it came to corners, the Houston Dash acquired 3 to the Bay FC’s 7. For this game being the last game of the season for the Houston Dash, it was still, as always, a great game to watch.  For many Fans of the Houston Dash, this season is to be considered a season of disappointment. Not because the Houston Dash is not a good team, but because of the Houston Dash’s inability to demonstrate dominance on the pitch combined with their inability to consistently score and win games.

If you’re wondering if Fans of the Houston Dash are going to give up on their team, you’d be hard pressed to see anyone switch teams and hop on the next WMLS bandwagon. The city of Houston stands strongly and proudly with the Houston Dash whether they win, lose, or draw. With that being said, the Fans of the Houston Dash are looking forward to and hoping for a better playing season next season.
