Last Friday's game between the Houston Dash and the Chicago Red Stars was a great game that most definitely kept Dash fans on the edge of their seats. With the Houston Dash acquiring three yellow cards and the Chicago Red Stars earning two, the frustration and resentment amongst the fans were clearly visible. There were no red cards given. Even though the Houston Dash lost, it's safe to say that they really did play their best during Friday night's game against the Chicago Red Stars.

Looking at the stats, the Houston Dash took a whopping total of 29 shots to the Chicago Red Stars 10. With the Houston Dash taking that many shots, it led to many fans wondering why they didn’t score at least one point on the pitch. In terms of shots on target, the Houston Dash got 2 to the Chicago Red Stars 4. Ball possession between the two teams were close with the Houston Dash having ball possession 55% of the time to the Chicago Red Stars 45%.

The Chicago Red Stars had 389 successful passes to the Houston Dash’s 434 passes. In terms of pass accuracy, the Houston Dash acquired 84% to the Chicago Red Stars 77%. It seems the Houston Dash are no longer strangers when it comes to playing aggressively. With the Houston Dash racking up 10 fouls and the Chicago Red Stars picking up 7 fouls, the added aggression into the Dash games seem to be quite welcomed by the fans in attendance.

The Houston Dash also racked up 2 offsides calls and 10 corners while the Chicago Red Stars picked up 3 offsides and 2 corners. Again, a great game was played by the Houston Dash, but they simply couldn’t capture the win for the night. The next Houston Dash matchup will be on October 13, against the San Diego wave at the Snapdragon Stadium located in San Diego California with kickoff starting at 7pm.
