For many Houston Dash fans last night's game was a good game, for others it was a mediocre game between the two teams. No matter where you stand, it's safe to say that it was a good match-up between the two teams. The first half was extended by 5 minutes and by half time, neither team scored a point. However, Gotham FC did take 2 shots while the Houston Dash took 1 corner before the end of the first half. The Gotham Midfielder, Bruna Santos Nhaia obtained one yellow card in the first half as well.
For the Houston Dash, it would be Bárbara Klarissa Olivieri Dávila who would be issued a yellow card and first for the team at roughly the 52nd minute of the game. Although the Houston Dash generally played well throughout this game, they still fell slightly behind Gotham FC in several key areas such as ball possession, passes, and pass accuracy.
Stat wise, for the entirety of the match, the Houston Dash took a total of 3 shots, while the Gotham FC took 9, three times more than the Dash. People are wondering why the Dash waited until the second half, to really start driving the ball towards the goal since all three of their shots taken occurred during the second half of the match. The Gotham FC had 2 shots on target, while the Houston Dash had 1. Gotham FC dominated the Houston Dash in terms of ball possession, passes, and accuracy with their numbers at 60%, 458, and 85% respectively.

The Houston Dash stood at possessing the ball 40% of the time, with 327 successful passes, with a pass accuracy rate of 74%. Again, even though neither team scored a point for the duration of the match, both teams played well. However, Gotham FC led when it came to fouls racking up a total of 20 fouls for the match. Is this due to them attempting to play more aggressively on the pitch or is it simply because of them ignoring the fundamental rules of the game?
This doesn't let the Houston Dash off the hook as they racked up an impressive 15 fouls for the duration of the match. Where they [Dash] trying to play more aggressively in pursuit of trying to score a goal or where they are also ignoring the fundamental rules of the game? The sports world will never know.

But what the world does know is that the Houston Dash were issued 2 yellow cards while Gotham FC were awarded one (in the first half). The Houston Dash were also called offside 2 times with no offsides called against Gotham FC. Both teams took two corners. The next Houston Dash game will take place April 12th at the Shell Energy Stadium and they will be facing off against the Los Angeles’s Angel City FC. kickoff time is at 4:00pm. You can purchase your tickets here as tickets for this game starts at $14.00 and go up to $91.00 depending on where you choose to sit in the stadium.
