Saturday's Houston Dash game versus the Seattle Reign was truly a great game resulting in the Houston Dash winning against the Seattle Reign 1-0. A mildly aggressive game that kept Houston Dash fans on the edge of their seats and reminded the attendees why they should continue to support the Houston Dash and cheer them on to victory. In terms of the Seattle Reign FC, even though they lost this game; the stats indicate that they aren’t too far behind the Houston Dash in terms of their performance on the pitch.

The Houston Dash took a total of 10 shots while the Seattle Reign took 11. Both teams tied when it came to shots on target resulting in both teams having 2 shots on target.  When it came to ball possession, due to the record of the last 2-3 months of games that were played by the Houston Dash, you would expect that they would lead when it came to ball possession in this game. However, they trailed far behind the Seattle Reign (36%) who led by almost double when it came to ball possession (64%). The Houston Dash also trailed behind the Seattle Reign when it came to ball passes (286) as the Seattle Reign led them by 487 passes.

The Houston Dash also fell slightly behind the Seattle Reign in terms of pass accuracy. This resulted in the Houston Dash having a pass accuracy of 80% to the Seattle Reigns 86%. When it came to fouls, the Houston Dash racked up a total of 12 fouls to the Seattle Reigns 12. It should be noted that throughout the game both teams engaged in with both teams pushing and pulling each other which led to a few players eating grass on the pitch. When it comes to the issuance of yellow cards the Houston Dash took the cake by racking up 4 yellow cards to the Seattle Reigns 2.

No red cards were issued. Neither team was caught offsides through the entire game. But despite that, both teams were equal when it came to corners, with both teams earning 5 each. The next Houston Dash game will be held on September 28th against the Orlando Pride at 6:30pm at the Inter & Co Stadium located in Orlando, Florida. This is a game that you don’t want to miss and the reason for this is because the Orlando Pride is the number one team in WMSL. Win, lose, or draw, the City of Houston will be standing behind the Houston Dash.
